Open is widely regarded as the brand that pioneered the modern gravel bike: its U.P. won top Eurobike honours in 2016. Founders Andy Kessler and Gerard Vroomen backed Nedbank Gravel Burn before the event had even launched, lending a fleet of WI.DE bikes to the test riders who scouted our routes on the Trial Burn. Together we created the Nedbank Gravel Burn Limited Edition WI.DE 2.0, a frame with the wide tyre clearance, aero features and race geometry that true South African gravel calls for. Its hand-painted livery captures the textures of the Karoo, the hues of its gravel and the glow of the Burn Camp fires.
